Carers Trust is the largest UK wide charity for the nation’s 7 million unpaid carers. Together with our Network Partner members, we provide support, information, advice and services for children, young people and adults caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend. The number of carers is a growing issue, with 3 in 5 of us likely to become a carer at some point in our lifetime. Carers save the UK economy over £132bn every year and act as a main support to our stretched health and social care systems.
Our organisation together with nine partners in six other countries in Europe has received EU Horizon 2020 research funding to develop, implement and evaluate support services for and with young adult carers aged 15-17 across Europe. We are currently looking for an exceptional Project and Development Manager to lead our contribution to this project. The aim of the project – the first of its kind in Europe - is to strengthen the resilience of young adult carers in transition to adulthood in order to impact positively on their mental health and well-being.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, with strong project management skills (ideally with experience managing an EU funded project), and will be particularly skilled at maintaining, forming and facilitating relationships with professionals and organisations to develop and deliver the project.
You will understand the importance of bringing people together to learn and collaborate and be comfortable in delivering training, events and focus groups. You will work in partnership with European project partners, Carers Trust Network Partners and the wider sector to develop, shape, implement and test innovation which addresses the mental health and wellbeing needs of young adult carers. You will be committed to making sure young adult carers get the support they need to stay healthy, achieve and reach their full potential.
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in joining a successful organisation and team.
